Can my car tow a So-Cal Teardrop Trailer?
Most automobiles have the required towing capacity.  As long as your vehicle is properly equipped with a tow hitch and wiring, you should have no problem.  If you have any concerns, refer to the spec. page for trailer weights and your vehicle's owners manual to determine if you have the required towing capacity.

How long does it take to get a So-Cal Teardrop Trailer?
Usually we require 12 to 14 weeks to complete your hand built trailer.  Occasionally we have units in stock ready to sell.

What type of insulation is used, if any?
Rigid foam insulation is installed in the floor, ceiling and galley hatch.

What material is used to "skin" the exterior?
.040" 5052 H32 Aluminum

How is the trailer wired?
12 volt accessories with onboard deep cycle 12v battery, onboard battery charger/converter and 110 volt "shore" power hook-up.

Can my car charging system charge my So-Cal Teardrop Trailer's battery?
yes, if your vehicle is properly wired

What type of hook-up do I need on my car?
Minimum Class 1 hitch, a 2" ball and a 7-pin round electrical connector.

Do So-Cal Teardrop Trailers leak like other teardrops?
No, we use a patented geared hinge at the galley hatch.

Do So-Cal Teardrop doors lock?
Yes, they lock from both the inside and outside.

Is the So-Cal Teardrop Trailer frame powdercoated?
Yes, the entire 2" tubular steel frame is powdercoated, not just the tongue and fenders.

Do So-Cal Teardrop Trailers come with a battery?
Yes, a 12v deep cycle battery, battery box and a fully automatic battery charger/converter.

How is the galley hatch held up on a So-Cal Teardrop Trailer?
2 gas filled struts, no clumsy prop-rods

Do So-Cal Teardrop Trailers have a "pull-out" shelf for the stove?
yes

Where can I store my eating utensils?
Under the stove is another drawer, perfect for utensils.

What is on the countertops?
All countertop surfaces in the cabin and galley are Formica brand high-pressure laminate.

Does So-Cal Teardrop Trailers use that thick rubber on the door hinges that doesn't allow the doors to open completely?
No, we use a patented geared hinge that allows them to open completely and keeps the water out.
  We also use a low profile rubber door catch to hold the door open.

Why do So-Cal Teardrop trailers have torsion axles instead of leaf springs?
Leaf springs offer no "damping" to the spring pack.  This is what causes leaf spung trailers to bounce down the highway.  The torsion axles offer a very smooth ride and increased ground clearance.
